(theorizing) I noticed some things that weren't mentioned in the video: we can notice that the background changes, at first we see everything dark and rainy, as time passes it starts to alternate between rainy and dark and just dark, then when Donny appears it's daytime symbolizing happiness, when he goes to that room with just Find_nulla I believe it symbolizes that depressive part of himself (it happened after he exploded, which could also be symbolism of his feelings exploding). at the end we see a sunrise background, it's basically him having a new beginning, giving a new chance. Furthermore he commented a few times about the dark wood and it always seemed in a negative way, something bad or it could also be him just wanting that wood (the past), in the end when he asks Donny if he has any dark wood and he replies that no, it is the moment when he realizes that it is no longer the same thing, that past and old friends are very different from the present, and when he takes and hands over the white wood it represents the future, the new and possibly the "good". Note: He always TAKEN the wood but this time he delivered it, showing that he changed the cycle. I think in a sense Matthew is likely the player's own thoughts as a coping mechanism. But like u/deadlyyritual said, when Matthew types on the Player's screen, it showed up onf Dark0's screen as the Player talking. So this whole time the player was alone. But I also think the footage from Matthew's POV it was probably in spectating mode within the world, could either mean Player is controlling both at the same time but not also since Matthew can buid on his own and destroy parts of the village. But how could Player have done that if he didn't touch any of it? Could Matthew have been written into the game's source code as a shell? A chain of command that somehow replies as Player yet also Nulla...

this story is kind of sweet but also bitter. its kind of a bitter sweet ending. also the nulla fotage is probably a glitch where the video of himself was instead on nulla which is why nulla disappeared in to the house. maybe, idk

summary: so this guy named alex moved and he has no friends, so he made an imaginary friend named find_nulla, or matthew. matthew was helping him do stuff, like digging stuff. one time, matthew made a surround hole around “their” base. when alex turned his back for a second from the hole, it wasn’t there. it is because it wasn’t real because Matthew made it. later, a new character named donny joined the world. from there on, matthew was transparent. donny and alex hanged out together, and one time in a different base, alex dropped items to Matthew. but on Donny’s pov, matthew wasn’t there. that proves that matthew was Alex’s imaginary friend because he didn’t have any at the time. near the end, matthew and alex where in a cave. alex turned around and put down a sign, and when he turned around, matthew was gone. forever. he went back up to the surface and made a base with donny. he got a friend. he finally got his happy ending.

23:09 you can literally see the crossair thingy that's only visible when you look at an entity. there was nothing there but the hit cooldown is visible. imo some parts are just scripted. they could've just used invis and turned off particles. as for the main player's prespective, either they recorded that part twice one with "mathew" being invis and other not, or they could be using some type of custom mod where if the player is using the mod and someone's invis, the player looks like a ghost. for me at least, matthew acts as a therapist for the player. he is something for the player to open up to about whatever depressing events happened in his past. matthew is a reflection of the player's conscious. so when matthew drops those items for the player in the second episode, that's him giving the player what he needs to recover, so by the player accepting those items in the final episodes shows that hes ready to move on from his past, and thus matthew has no more purpose, so he dissappears.

I havent finished the video, my guess is matthew is an imaginary person and he made him up, so he can cope with the loss (possibly death) of his friends, and thats why everything that matthew makes is disappearing Edit: I was right :P (atleast the imaginary part)

This is a really cool story of remembering and making sense of your past. Its interesting to see the player coping with his past then making good of his problems in a healthy way. People could definitely learn from these videos. They teach a lot about trauma and difficulty coping. Especially the one moment where the player directly says "no" to being kind
